Tim Brown Signs With Broncos : Pro football: Raiders have a week to match four-year, $11-million, no-trade offer.

Offer made. Offer accepted.

Raider wide receiver Tim Brown, a restricted free agent, signed an offer sheet with the Denver Broncos Friday that will pay him $11 million over the next four years. The contract includes a no-trade clause and a signing bonus that is just under $3 million.

Now it’s up to the Raiders. They can either match the offer and keep Brown, a six-year veteran coming off his best season, or pass on the opportunity, giving Denver the biggest catch of the free-agent season thus far.

“There are parts of this contract,” said Steve Ortmayer, the Raiders’ director of football operations, “that are difficult, almost obnoxious, I would say. But Al (owner Al Davis) is out of town and we won’t start reviewing it until early next week.”

The Raiders have until 1 p.m. Friday to announce their decision.

It was the second time this week a Raider receiver accepted another offer. Earlier, tight end Ethan Horton, an unrestricted free agent, agreed to a two-year, $2.5-million deal with the Washington Redskins.

“That move was not unexpected,” Ortmayer said. “But we are in control of what we choose to do and we chose to go with younger players in regard to Ethan.”

Brown caught 80 passes for 1,180 yards last season, both career highs. He also scored seven touchdowns as a receiver and had another touchdown on a punt return.

“No matter what happens is fine,” Bronco Coach Wade Phillips said, “because it still helps us. It’s a win-win deal. We made a blockbuster offer to a guy we may get. If we don’t, we force them into a situation that will hurt them.”
