Rosalie White; ‘Mama’ of National Public Radio Commentator

Rosalie White, 80, known to millions of National Public Radio listeners as the determined mother of commentator Bailey White. The elder White became well-known to listeners of NPR’s “All Things Considered” as “Mama,” a central figure in her daughter’s commentaries and stories. A collection of the stories was published in a book called “When Mama Makes Up Her Mind and Other Dangers of Southern Living.” The book became a 1993 bestseller. In Beachton, Ga., on Wednesday of the complications of a stroke.
