MOORPARK : Pay Raise Considered for City Manager
The Moorpark City Council will consider giving a raise to City Manager Steve Kueny at tonight’s City Council meeting.
If approved, the raise would lift Kueny’s annual salary to nearly $93,000.
The council reviewed Kueny’s performance over the past year and determined he deserved the merit-based pay increase.
“It amounts to a roughly 2% raise,” Moorpark Mayor Paul Lawrason said.
“He’s done a good job,” Lawrason said.
Councilman Scott Montgomery said the council waited to consider Kueny’s boost in pay until it was sure there was enough money in the budget.
“Essentially, (Kueny) was charged with the responsibility of keeping the budget low enough to cover his possible raise,” Montgomery said.
Kueny has worked for the city since 1984.
