Arum Buys Out Goossen Operation
Top Rank Boxing has purchased the Ten Goose operation in Van Nuys, including the contracts of Rafael Ruelas, the International Boxing Federation lightweight champion, and his brother Gabriel, promoter Bob Arum said Thursday in Beverly Hills.
Dan Goossen, former head of Ten Goose, was named executive vice president of Top Rank Boxing and will manage the Olympic Auditorium.
“This move is something I could only have done with Arum,” Goossen said. “We’ve been on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to negotiating, but we’ve always been friends.”
For 13 years, Goossen was president and promoter of Ten Goose, putting on shows with his family at the Country Club in Reseda. Those shows will no longer be held.
“I’m bringing Danny aboard because he is an experienced boxing man who knows this area well,” Arum said.
