Garfield 3, Jordan 0--Garfield beat host Jordan, 15-8, 15-4, 15-6, in a Central League match Wednesday led by spikers Cisko Sianez and Arturo Sanchez, and setter Luis Munoz’s 32 assists.

Eagle Rock 3, Belmont 0--Luis Alvarado and Ben Collado each had five kills in a losing effort for Belmont. Eagle Rock won 17-15, 15-12, 15-5.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

South Gate 104, Garfield 75--Bruce Monroy won the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly to lead the Rams boys in a dual East-North League meet Monday. Bulldog Johnny Vallejo remains undefeated in diving.

Huntington Park 99, Bell 74--Eagles Luis Torres won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle in Bell’s loss to the Spartans on Monday.

SOFTBALL

Fremont 13 Locke 9--Pathfinder Shatana Smith struck out 12 and had four hits, including a home run, in a Southeastern Conference victory Monday.

Garfield 7, Bell 3--Bulldog Alma Limon gave up all three Eagle runs in the first inning in an Eastern League victory Wednesday. Limon’s third-inning hit down the middle scored two runs.

Roosevelt 18, Huntington Park 0--Liz Ballesteros threw a one-hitter and Jennifer Brambilia had a triple and drove in five runs in a Central League blowout Wednesday.

South Gate 9, Jordan 3--Ivonne Arrizaga gave up one earned run and had nine strikeouts in an Eastern League triumph Wednesday.
