Chan Ho Park made his third start for the double-A San Antonio Missions on Monday night, and he didn’t fare well. In three innings, Park threw 80 pitches and gave up two earned runs, five walks and struck out five. Fred Claire, Dodger executive vice president, attended the game.

Before Park pitched, he called Manager Tom Lasorda and told him that he was feeling well, but missed Los Angeles. “He told me he missed me, and I told him how much I miss him and can’t wait to see him again,” Lasorda said.

“He could pitch here right now, there is no doubt in my mind,” Lasorda said. “We just didn’t want him sitting around here and not pitching.”

In Park’s previous two starts with San Antonio, he pitched a combined 8 2/3 scoreless innings, with 14 strikeouts and two walks.

Rookie Cliff Floyd is not only hitting .289 for the Expos, but playing the best defense at first base since the team had Andres Galarraga. In the fourth inning Monday night, he made a great play when he dived at a grounder down the first-base line by Jose Offerman and flipped the ball to pitcher Ken Hill for the out.

In nine games since Floyd was moved to the No. 2 spot in the batting order, the Expos have scored 56 runs and have a 9-1 record.

The Expos’ Sean Berry left the game because of a bruised elbow after Darren Dreifort hit him with a pitch in the sixth inning. . . . The Dodgers claimed right-handed pitcher Jeff Williams off waivers from the Seattle Mariner organization, where he had an 0-1 record with an 11.37 earned-run average in 6 1/3 innings at triple-A Calgary. He will join triple-A Albuquerque. Williams, 25, was the Baltimore Orioles’ second-round draft pick in 1990.
