Legislation: A Question on Federal Waste
Why does our own Rep. Jane Harman (D--Marina del Rey) oppose a vote on cutting federal waste?
Specifically, she opposed “A to Z,” a promising pending proposal to convene a special session of Congress during which any Representative could propose cuts in any federal program, subject to a roll-call vote. Why?
She has even sought to prevent a floor vote on “A to Z” by keeping the bill lodged in committee. If she were right to oppose “A to Z,” then why would she also oppose letting the House vote on it?
