WATTS : Conference to Focus on Violence Issues
The Watts College of Child Development will sponsor its 19th annual Week of the Child conference starting June 6.
The weeklong conference will examine issues of violence in the black community, including a panel discussion on how to bridge the gap between older adults and youths.
“This is to let people know that African American children are an endangered species, and we need help getting them to the year 2000,” said Paul Wilson, a member of the organization.
The college is a non-accredited community organization that focuses on children’s issues. The conference will be at the Ramada Hotel in Compton.
Information: Ernie Smith at (213) 583-5908.
