Team Wins at Volleyball Tournament

Team ASICS/Paul Mitchell of Huntington Beach won two pool-play matches at the U.S. Volleyball Assn. national club championships Monday in Tulsa, Okla.

The team, the defending national champion, beat Dupuis of Chicago, 15-5, 15-2, and Strictly On of Minneapolis, 15-9, 15-12.

Alan Knipe, a former Marina High player, had 28 kills and Mark Presho, formerly of Edison, had 27 in the two matches.

The tournament continues throughout the week with the final scheduled for Saturday.
