Irving Meadows
I’ve always enjoyed reading Pop Eye, but June 12 I couldn’t believe my eyes. It seems you’ve bought some Hollywood propaganda hook, line and sinker (“Blockbuster Blockage”).
Irving Azoff co-owns Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. He also manages the Eagles (no big secret). Why do you fail to mention this important tidbit in your piece on the Eagles at Blockbuster Pavilion?
I attended the Eagles’ show at Blockbuster and have attended many shows at Irvine Meadows. It takes me 2 1/2 hours to get in and out of Irvine Meadows for any show! The old Lion Country Safari ran better traffic control.
It seems pretty clear to me that the owner of Irvine Meadows is slinging mud at what is clearly a bigger, better-run amphitheater down the road. But if The Times is going to join in throwing the mud, you should at least find out the real agenda before you do it.
