Lancaster Man, 36, Fatally Stabbed
LANCASTER — Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a motive and a suspect in the stabbing death of a 36-year-old Lancaster man who was found in a gutter along a residential street.
Authorities said a passing motorist spotted John Brown Avila just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 44000 block of 3rd Street East.
Avila, who had been stabbed several times in the upper body, was pronounced dead at 2:56 at the Antelope Valley Medical Center, said Deputy Diane Hecht of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
