TRAVEL AND TOURISM
Fun, Games and Safety: Red Lion Hotel/Orange County Airport in Costa Mesa is trying to begin a program to attract party animals who don’t want to risk drunken driving.
Every Friday and Saturday night this summer, the hotel is offering a deal to allow guests to be shuttled from the hotel’s Club Max to the nearby upscale nightclubs Shark Club and Metropolis--then back to the hotel, where they will have a room waiting for them.
For $30 a person double occupancy, guests will find food and drink specials at each stop and then a chance to sleep it all off.
The program is being aimed at couples as well as bachelor parties and reunions.
“Everyone seems to have gotten the message that drinking and driving never mix, but that doesn’t mean they want to stay home,” said Red Lion Marketing Director Scott D. Williams.
