PORT OF LOS ANGELES : Official Promises to Expedite Parks Projects
Harbor Commissioner Steven L. Soboroff, who is expected to move to the Recreation and Parks Commission, has pledged to ensure that parks and recreation projects in the harbor area begin quickly.
Soboroff, who attended his final harbor board meeting last month, said more than $8 million has been allocated in Proposition A funds for harbor projects.
They include: Harbor Walkway ($2.7 million); the Imperial Courts Recreational Center Community Building ($2 million); Cabrillo Pier ($1 million); Nickerson Gardens building refurbishment ($750,000).
Also, Cabrillo Museum ($650,000); Nickerson Gardens Park redevelopment ($500,000); the Watts Senior Citizens Center ($500,000); Daniels Field park redevelopment ($115,000), and Daniels Field building refurbishment ($80,000).
