George R Voigt; Consultant for California Politicians
George R. Voigt, 74, political consultant and former executive director of the California Contract Cities Assn. A Marine Corps combat correspondent in World War II, he began his career as a journalist. He worked for Los Angeles’ City News Service and the defunct Daily News and at the San Francisco Chronicle before becoming a foreign correspondent for Time magazine. For the past 30 years, Voigt served as consultant, publicist and campaign director for various California politicians. On July 31 in South Pasadena of cancer.
