LAGUNA BEACH : ‘Paddle for Clean Water’ Is Scheduled
A surfboard paddle-out at Aliso Pier will be held Saturday on National Clean Water Day to protest recent sewage spills at the Aliso Creek river mouth and into the Pacific Ocean.
Sponsored by the Laguna chapter of Surfrider Foundation, the “Paddle for Clean Water” is to help bring attention to chronic sewage spills in the creek and the need for greater health protection to swimmers and surfers, chapter spokesman Taylor Greene said.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and will include a two-hour beach cleanup.
For more information, call Greene at (714) 249-2480.
