At KCRW (89.9 FM/Santa Monica; 89.1 FM/Oxnard, Ventura, and 89.3 FM/Indio, Palm Springs), our signature station identification says, “National Public Radio for more of Southern California.” And indeed, since February, 1993, from our full-power transmitter in Oxnard and for several years prior via microwave and low-power transmitters, KCRW has been providing a wide-ranging menu of National Public Radio news, information and cultural programming to Ventura County listeners--many of whom we proudly count among our members.

While a new public radio station is a reason for any community to celebrate--and we wish KCLU/Thousand Oaks good luck in its endeavor--we think that your readers will be pleased to know that, even though our home base is Santa Monica College, KCRU/Oxnard, Ventura (89.1 FM) is on the air 24 hours a day, providing the high-quality programs upon which National Public Radio has built its award-winning reputation.
