Treasury Offers Contracts: The Treasury Department, its bureaus and several prime contractors will participate Tuesday and Wednesday in an unusual procurement conference for small and minority- and women-owned businesses. More than $2 million in contracts will be available for on-the-spot bidding. Bidding results for many small contracts will be announced each hour and for larger contracts within 10 days of the Partnerships ’94 conference, which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Registration is $30 per person. The department suggests that each company be represented by several employees supplied with cellular telephones, calculators, phone numbers of suppliers and distributors, and a rubber stamp with the company’s name and address.
