Rock ‘N the Puck With Stars
Well sports fans, this may be the last chance to bid farewell to Kings hockey star Luc Robitaille, who was traded this month to Pittsburgh. But what an L.A. way to go--surrounded by celebrities, with the Spin Doctors singing the National Anthem. Robitaille will lead a parade of professional and celebrity players in the Rock ‘N the Puck Celebrity Hockey Game, on the Kings’ home ice at the Great Western Forum at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Celebrity hockey players include “Wayne’s World’s” Mike Myers, actors Scott Bakula, Dave Coulier, Richard Dean Anderson, Jamie Walters and MTV’s Riki Rachtman. Among the pro players are the Kings’ Rob Blake, Darryl Fydor, Mike Donnelly and recently retired Dave Taylor; Pavel Bure of the Vancouver Canucks and Chris Chelios of the Chicago Blackhawks. Mark and Brian of radio station KLOS will emcee.
The Spin Doctors will return after the game to perform at the VIP after-game party, where you can hobnob and talk pucks with the players for $95.50. General admission prices to the game only are $9.55 and $19.55, available at the Forum box office or Ticketmaster, (213) 480-3232.
Funds raised at the benefit, sponsored by KLOS, Iceoplex (the Kings’ training facility) and Kmart, will go to the T.J. Martell Foundation and Neil Bogart Memorial Fund.
