Male Abusers

It’s sad to read your article “Change Is Slow in Therapy Group for Men Who Batter” (Aug. 11).

It states that half of those men ordered into counseling drop out and only about half of those who finish the course stop beating their partners. Based on this 75% failure rate, it is even more of an urgent reason for society to bring this issue early into our education system, targeting today’s teen-agers, boys and girls, about equality and mutual respect.
