Cherney Tied for 9th in Junior Golf Event
Ben Cherney of Encino is tied for ninth with 18 holes remaining in the American Junior Golf Assn. Smith Corona Championship at Apawamis Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
Cherney, of Brentwood High, shot 78 Wednesday for a 36-hole total of 159, 10 shots behind Ted Haley of Greenwich, Conn.
