Two Washington State football players have been charged with forgery in a July 16 incident and will not play in tonight’s season-opener against Illinois.
Backup running back Brandon Moore and backup wide receiver Bryant Thomas are accused of paying for video games at a Moscow, Ida., mall with a forged check, Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson said.

A new policy designed to prevent a repeat of last October’s fan stampede will require only selective frisking of University of Wisconsin students for the home opening football game with Eastern Michigan on Sept. 10, Chancellor David Ward said in Madison, Wis.
Ward said only students wearing suspiciously bulky clothing will be asked to show what they are carrying in or submit to a pat-down search.
