OUTLOOK

In responding to a preseason questionnaire, Donnelly listed winning five games as the Seahawks’ team goal. While that might seem unambitious to some, five victories in a season at Ocean View is like snow in the Southland--it don’t happen often. If the Seahawks attain their goal, it would give them five more victories than they’ve had the last three seasons combined. Ocean View, which finished last in the Sunset League last season, has lost 29 consecutive games. Entering a new league might be just the thing to spark a turnaround; Donnelly sure hopes so. “I think we’re a lot better than last year,” Donnelly said. “I think we’re going to get a few (victories).” If so, Silva must come through with a standout season. Silva, a member of the varsity for three seasons and a two-year starter, is a powerful runner who is also capable of big plays. Helping Silva break free is Traxler’s job.
