Buddy Edward Wilson, 46, proprietor of Buddy’s on Melrose Avenue, where the simple lines, functional design and finely wrought hardwoods of Craftsman furniture vied with California art pottery in a mix that was swept up by hundreds of knowledgeable collectors, including Hollywood’s biggest stars and executives. Wilson also catered to the film industry, providing prop rentals and set dressings for pictures. He entered the design business after teaching and writing about 20th-Century pottery, furniture and art. His store was featured in such publications as Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Homes, HG and the Los Angeles Times Magazine, and exhibited in museums.
