CSUN Rally Nets Win Over Fresno
Missy Clements had 21 kills and Aimee Stone added 15 as the Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team rallied from a two-game deficit to defeat Fresno State in the opening match of the UC Irvine Invitational on Friday.
The scores were 13-15, 8-15, 15-3, 15-6, 15-13.
Heather Anderson added 12 kills, 16 digs and eight blocks in the Matadors’ season opener. Stephanie Pfau added eight kills and a match-high 10 blocks.
Northridge plays Irvine today at noon and Southwest Missouri State at 5 p.m.
Football
Sherdrick Bonner, former Cal State Northridge quarterback, completed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Schexnayder with 31 seconds remaining to give the Arizona Rattlers a 36-31 victory over the Orlando Predators in the ArenaBowl on Friday night.
Bonner completed 25 of 38 passes for 267 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.
