A Great Disservice to Osteopathic Physicians
The article “It’s a Control Thing” (Aug. 30) is misleading at best and slanderous at worst.
I have been a “doctor” practicing medicine for more than 20 years and I am fully licensed as a physician and surgeon in three states.
Writer Leslie Knowlton’s first question--”What is your degree?”--implies that osteopaths are called doctor erroneously. This is absolutely untrue.
Osteopathic physicians have the exact equivalent training as MDs in the United States. We are fully licensed physicians with full hospital medical staff privileges. To indicate other than these qualifications is a great disservice to the thousands of osteopathic physicians practicing as “doctors” in California.
