Four of the five candidates in the La Habra City Council race and three of the 25 candidates in the Fullerton election will discuss why they are running for office and answer questions from the audience Wednesday at the Kling Center in La Mirada.

The La Habra candidates scheduled to be present are Rose Espinoza, Kent Roberts, Dorothy Rush and Paul Thornburg.

From Fullerton, the candidates expected to attend are Jack Dean, Conrad DeWitte and Jacob Spaargaren.

Zona Neighbors, a La Habra resident organizing the event, which is sponsored by United We Stand America, said only a few candidates were invited because the Kling Center is too small to accommodate all candidates.

One candidate, La Habra Mayor David M. Cheverton, was not invited because “he already gets a lot of public exposure,” Neighbors said.

“This is good exposure for the people who don’t get exposure,” she added.

The public is invited to the forum at the center, which is at 12900 Bluefield in La Mirada.

Neighbors said another forum will be held before the October special election in Fullerton.

All candidates who were not invited to the September forum will be invited to speak at the next one, Neighbors said.
