* I congratulate the stout-hearted folks who organized and carried out Venice Beach’s table demolition (Aug. 29). So many of us have visited your city by night, and seen what goes on. Your friends all over California join in the applause.

* Bravo to the residents of Venice! Councilwoman Ruth Galanter should point the finger where it belongs--in the mirror. If our elected official were doing their jobs right, such desperate acts on the part of citizens wouldn’t be necessary.
