Countywide : Charity Event at 11 Pools Planned

The local chapter of the Leukemia Society of America will hold a fund-raiser Saturday at 11 pools across Orange County.

The 13th annual Super Swim Classic is designed to raise money for leukemia patients in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Funds will also be used to pay for research to find a cure for the disease.

Swimmers are responsible for finding sponsors. Participants must be able to swim laps across a pool. All ages are welcomed.

Participants who raise $25 or more will receive T-shirts. Those who raise $50 or more will also receive tickets to a victory party to be held at Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine.

Pools being used include those at Brea-Olinda High School in Brea, Los Caballeros Sports Village in Fountain Valley, Gary Hall Pool in Garden Grove, UC Irvine, the Crown Valley Community Pool in Laguna Niguel, Orange High School and McGaugh Elementary School in Seal Beach.
