SIMI VALLEY : Bank Teller Robbed 2nd Day on the Job
A 22-year-old bank teller during her second day on the job was robbed by a well-dressed man who simulated having a gun Friday morning at a Bank of America branch in Simi Valley.
“Welcome to the bank business,” said Sgt. Bob Gardner of the Simi Valley Police Department.
The man, dressed in slacks, dress shirt and tie and wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, entered the bank at 5821 Los Angeles Ave. about 10:20 a.m., Gardner said.
When he stepped up to the teller, he put a fanny pack on the counter and placed his hand inside as if he had a weapon, the sergeant said. The man, believed to be in his early to mid-30s, received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.
The robber was described as black, about six feet tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds, Gardner said.
