Christopher Wood; Filmmaker and Children’s Book Writer
Christopher Wood, 35, filmmaker, artist and creator of children’s books. His animated short feature “Earthskin” was presented at the Modern Museum of Art in New York and the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. He also worked as film editor on a UCLA reconstruction project of Orson Welles’ 1942 documentary, “It’s All True.” With his collaborator and partner Cliff Rothman, Wood drew whimsical heart characters for Pretty Pumpkin Publishing, which produces greeting cards. Wood and Rothman also illustrated and wrote children’s books, including “Santa Mer,” “Monsters Are People, Too” and “Countdown to Bedtime.” On Aug. 11 in Los Angeles of complications of AIDS.
