Ryan Williams rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns to lead host Bellflower St. John Bosco to a 48-10 romp over Huntington Beach Friday night.

Williams controlled the game from the outset. He rambled 80 yards over the left side on the Braves’ first play from scrimmage to give them a quick 7-0 lead.

Huntington Beach answered two series later with a 20-play, 75-yard drive that consumed more than 11 minutes, but came away with only a field goal.

Three plays later, Williams was in the end zone again after a 76-yard run. The Braves, who won a home opener for the first time in eight years, led at the half, 21-3, after a 20-yard pass from Todd Husak to Daniel Ulloa.

But even after a 209-yard first half, Williams was not done. After a David Yadrick touchdown pass to Billy Campbell brought the Oilers (0-1) to within 28-10, Williams returned the subsequent kickoff 97 yards to secure the victory.

The Oilers committed three turnovers, including a fumble that set up Williams’ final touchdown from 43 yards that pushed the lead to 42-10.
