EL SERENO : Composer Illustrates Music Through Time
The El Sereno Branch Library will host musician and composer Jim McAuley, who uses instruments to illustrate changes in music through four centuries, in a free performance Friday.
“The Guitar from Renaissance to Rap” begins at 3:30 p.m. at the library, 4990 Huntington Drive South.
McAuley has worked with Frank Sinatra and mime Marcel Marceau and has recorded here and abroad with his own groups. He encourages active audience participation as he shows the progression of American music from blues to rock and jazz.
