1993: CIF State Division II champions; Southern Section Division II-AA champions; winners of Orange County Championships and Sunset League finals.
Key returners: Jeannie Formosa, Sr.; Jennifer Formosa, Sr.; Elyse Homberger, Sr.; Kerry O’Bric, Jr.
Key newcomers: Helen Chang, Sr.; Jennifer Crobbe, So.; Kelle Pangborn, So.; Rachelle Weber, Sr.; Keri Wright, Sr.
Outlook: It’s going to be hard for the Chargers to top their accomplishments of last season, but with five of their top eight runners returning, a repeat performance does not appear to be an impossible mission. McGihon’s leaders are the Formosa twins, Jeannie and Jennifer. Jennifer finished 15th overall at the Orange County Championships, just ahead of O’Bric (18th) and sister Jeannie (25th). Homberger rejoined the team late last season, just in time to help it to its title run. Wright had a stellar track season and will be more than ready for the transition to varsity cross-country. Chang, Crobbe, Pangborn and Weber will battle for the remaining spots.
