LA HABRA : Children’s Museum Gets $112,500 Grant
The Children’s Museum at La Habra recently received a $112,500 federal grant from the Institute of Museum Services for its programs.
IMS--which provides money for programs in natural history, art, history, children’s museums, zoos, nature centers, science and technology centers, arboretums, botanical gardens and planetariums--is an independent federal agency that belongs to the National Foundation for the Arts and Humanities. The foundation was created in 1976 to recognize public education in children’s museums.
The grant money equals about 15% of the museum’s operating budget, officials said.
Plans for the grant money include continued educational programming and interactive exhibits.
The museum is a hands-on learning facility at 301 S. Euclid St. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
