Revco Agrees to Sell Brooks Drugstores: The outlets, in six New England states, are being bought for $147.5 million by Maxi Drug Inc., an affiliate of Canada’s Jean Coutu Group Inc. Revco, which operates about 2,100 drugstores and 34 Home Health Care stores, acquired Brooks Drug through its July 15 acquisition of Hook-SupeRx Inc. The assets to be sold include all 221 Brooks stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, and the Brooks warehouse and distribution facility in Killingly, Conn. Revco shares rose 75 cents to $19 in early trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
