Key returners: Tina Bowman, 5-9, middle blocker, Sr.; Sara Fairborn, 5-8, outside hitter, Sr.; Jenny Hecker, 5-8, setter, Jr.; Josey Hecker, 5-9, middle blocker, Sr.; Julie Hecker, 5-9, outside hitter, Jr.; Misty May, 5-9, outside hitter, Sr.; Malia McAnlis, 5-7, outside hitter, Sr.; Laura Osborne, 5-5, setter, Sr.; Melissa Schutz, 6-0, middle blocker, Sr.

Key newcomer: Laura Wilson, 5-10, middle blocker, Jr.

Outlook: The Sailors are the overwhelming favorite to win the section and State championship, but Glenn will take it one step at a time. “We’ll try to win league, then hopefully we can do well in the Southern Section playoffs,” he said. “This is one of the most talented teams we’ve had.” May, the county player of the year last season who has committed to Long Beach State, returns along with Schutz, who is being recruited by UCLA and Duke among others. Fairborn, Bowman and Osborne are also Division I recruits.
