VENTURA : Man Enters Plea in Shooting of Boy, 13
A Ventura man accused of shooting a 13-year-old boy, who was left paralyzed, pleaded not guilty in Ventura County Superior Court on Wednesday.
After accepting the plea, Superior Court Judge Charles R. McGrath ordered the defendant, 21-year-old Brian Adams, to undergo a psychiatric examination as requested by the defense.
Adams’ attorney, George C. Eskin, said a doctor could help determine whether Adams should change his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.
McGrath set Adams’ trial for Nov. 7.
