A Los Angeles couple who say they were injured on Disneyland’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” boat ride are suing the Walt Disney Co. for $2 million.

Gary and Donna Neubauer say they were injured at the park in June, 1993. They say their boat got stuck behind another at the bottom of a drop in the ride, then was rammed from behind, according to the lawsuit.

The suit says the second boat “essentially climbed on the back of the plaintiffs’ boat, creating a substantial impact and splintering the rear of the plaintiffs’ boat.”

The Neubauers allege that park employees knew about the problem, but allowed the boats to continue through the ride.

A Disneyland spokesman said the company would not be able to comment until Monday.

Gary Neubauer is seeking $1 million in compensatory damages, $100,000 for medical expenses and $500,000 for loss of wages. His wife is seeking $100,000 in general damages, $100,000 for medical expenses and $200,000 in lost wages.
