Sonance: The San Clemente maker of high-fidelity speakers used in walls, has filed a federal lawsuit against a Riverside company, alleging that the company copied Sonance’s mounting brackets and the visual appearance of Sonance speakers.
The patent infringement suit seeks all profits that SpeakerCraft Inc. earned from the alleged wrongdoing as well as treble damages and attorney fees.
Ed Haase, SpeakerCraft’s president, would not comment on the lawsuit, which was served on him Monday. But he did say that he has never seen any Sonance patent and, therefore, never set out to copy Sonance speakers.
