A golfer in search of a lost ball on the grounds of the California Country Club in the City of Industry discovered two bodies Monday morning along a fence that divides the golf course from the northbound 605 Freeway, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Noel Lanier said the bodies, which were found about 8:25 a.m. on the freeway side of the fence, were those of two Latino men in their late 20s or early 30s who appeared to have been killed elsewhere before their bodies were dumped. They could not immediately be identified, however, and it was not clear what had caused their deaths or how long they had been dead.

Lanier said autopsies have been scheduled.
