Platinum Software Corp.: The company said it has raised $13.76 million from a private placement of 2.49 million shares of preferred stock.
A group of investors led by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers of San Francisco and New Enterprise Associates of Menlo Park now controls 14% of Irvine-based Platinum’s stock. Arthur J. Marks, a principal at New Enterprise, and L. John Doerr, general partner of Kleiner Perkins, were given seats on Platinum’s board of directors.
In Wednesday’s trading on the Nasdaq market, Platinum’s stock closed at $10.56 a share, up 93 cents.
