Walsh, Willis Lead BYU Over Utah State, 34-6
PROVO, Utah — John Walsh threw for two touchdowns and Jamal Willis ran for two scores as Brigham Young rolled past penalty-plagued Utah State, 34-6, Friday night.
The game was moved up a day to avoid conflicting with conferences being held by BYU’s parent Mormon Church.
Walsh, who left the game with one quarter to play, completed 17 of 27 passes with no interceptions for 306 yards for BYU (4-1).
Willis was held to 51 yards by Utah State but still reached a school-record 34 career touchdowns.
Utah State (1-4) was penalized nine times for 96 yards, including two unsportsmanlike conduct calls against Coach Charlie Weatherbie.
