A new Bob Dylan song, “Dignity,” will be included on his “Greatest Hits Vol. 3,” due in January and featuring songs dating back to 1974’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” Dylan hasn’t released an album of his own new songs in four years and there are apparently no plans for one at this time. . . .

Dylan is also one of the contributors to “Till the Night Is Gone,” an album honoring the late songwriter Doc Pomus, due in February. Dylan does “Boogie Woogie Country Girl,” while other participants include Aaron Neville (“Save the Last Dance for Me”), Lou Reed (“This Magic Moment”), Los Lobos (“Lonely Avenue”), Shawn Colvin (“Viva Las Vegas”), plus John Hiatt, Brian Wilson, B.B. King and Dion. . . .

Joey Ramone, who’s spent the last 20 years singing with his pretend brothers in the Ramones, has collaborated with his real brother, Mickey Leigh, under the fitting name of Sibling Rivalry. A three-song single is being released by Alternative Tentacles, the label owned by Jello Biafra.

Live recordings of Rosanne Cash dueting with David Byrne, Shawn Colvin dueting with Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bruce Cockburn backed by Lou Reed and Cash are among the selections collected from the “Columbia Records Radio Hour” program for an album due in January. Others featured are Leonard Cohen, Darden Smith and Peter Himmelman.*
