GTE Offers Calls to Planes: The communications company said it has begun a service that for the first time allows airline passengers to receive telephone calls at their seats. For 10 years, air passengers have been able to call to the ground but not receive calls. The new service is available on Delta Air Lines and USAir shuttle flights between Boston, New York City and Washington, the company said. The service is also available on United Airlines transcontinental flights.
