DOWNEY : Council Appoints New City Attorney
The City Council has appointed its second city attorney since May.
Cheryl J. Kane has been hired to replace Timothy B. McOsker, who resigned Sept. 27 after about four months in order to accept a position as a deputy city attorney in Long Beach. McOsker also served as Downey’s assistant city attorney from 1989 to 1993.
Kane, 48, is a partner with the Los Angeles law firm of Burke, Williams & Sorensen. She also serves as Moorpark’s chief counsel.
