THOUSAND OAKS : Employees Union Backs 3 Candidates
The Ventura County employees union, which represents more than 6,000 public and private workers, has announced its endorsement of three candidates for the Thousand Oaks City Council.
Service Employees International Union, Local 998, has endorsed Andy Fox, David Hare and Councilwoman Elois Zeanah. There are 16 candidates in all running for three seats on the council.
Barry Hammitt, executive director of the union, said the union believed that all three candidates shared a deep commitment to labor and community issues.
“They’re all open and approachable,” Hammitt said of the candidates. “We believe having these three people on the council will be in the best interest of the city employees and the residents.”
