The ex-director of finance of USA Petroleum Corp. in Agoura Hills was sentenced to 33 months in prison Monday for embezzling nearly $2.4 million from the firm.

U.S. District Judge A. Wallace Tashima ordered Marvin Jay Caukin, 46, of Palos Verdes, to repay the entire amount, and also fined him $25,000. Caukin pleaded guilty in June to four counts of wire fraud, Assistant U.S. Atty. Dorothy Shubin said.

Caukin admitted funneling the money from his employer and several of its entities to secret bank accounts during a 22-month period that began in July, 1992, Shubin said.
