ROUNDUP : Northridge Sweeps in Volleyball

Heather Anderson had 14 kills and 19 digs to lead Cal State Northridge to a 15-9, 15-9, 15-8 victory over host Santa Clara in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Friday.

Aimee Stone and Missy Clements each added 12 kills as Northridge (12-7) won its second match in a row and its fifth in the last six.

Ana Kristich had 10 kills and added a match-high five blocks for the Matadors, who are five games above .500 for the first time this season.

Kathleen Shannon contributed 44 assists for Northridge, which does not play again until a Nov. 1 match at Loyola Marymount.

Lisa Tozi had 12 kills and 14 digs for Santa Clara (6-15).

Cal Lutheran d. Redlands 15-5, 15-3, 15-6--Freshman Jamey Light tied a Cal Lutheran record with nine service aces and Megan Falde led a balanced Lady Regals attack with nine kills as Cal Lutheran easily defeated Redlands in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Cal Lutheran.

Light tied a record established by Brenda Frafjord in a five-game match against Christian Heritage in 1991.

Cal Lutheran, the second-ranked team in the NCAA Division III West Region, improved to 16-7 overall, 8-0 in conference play.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Moorpark 3, Oxnard, 0--Maureen O’Hare scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Moorpark (7-3, 5-1) in a Western State Conference match at home. Heather Heit and Lori Haskel also scored for Moorpark and Mariah Ventre added an assist.

Goalkeeper Amy Fisher made three saves.

HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO

Crespi 11, Notre Dame 6--David Brea and Mike Scarcelli each scored four goals as Crespi won a Mission league match at Pierce College. Notre Dame tied Crespi at 4-4 but the Celts (13-9, 4-2) countered with six consecutive goals. Chris Crowley led Notre Dame (15-6, 3-3) with three goals.

Thousand Oaks 12, Westlake 11 (OT)--Steve Lazar scored the game-winning goal in the second period of overtime in a Marmonte League match at Newbury Park. David Block had five goals, four assists and nine steals for Westlake (0-5 in league play).

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Buckley d. Holy Martyrs 3-15, 15-12, 15-10, 9-15, 16-14--Nicole Fitzpatrick had 15 kills and Stephanie Juhos added six service aces as Buckley (3-12, 2-6) won a Liberty League match at home.
