Toyota Plans Joint Venture: The auto maker has completed a feasibility study on the $150-million venture to assemble vehicles in Vietnam, a Vietnamese state-run newspaper reported. Toyota Motor Corp.’s two prospective partners are Agriculture Machine Corp. of Vietnam and Kuo Co. of Singapore, the Vietnam News Agency said. The joint venture would build an assembly plant in Vinh Phu province, 40 miles northwest of Hanoi, the newspaper said, quoting an unidentified official source. The plant would produce minivans, cars and trucks for domestic sale and export. Last week, Chrysler Corp. announced plans for a joint venture with an unidentified Vietnamese partner. Four foreign joint ventures are now assembling cars in Vietnam.
