SAN DIEGO MT. CARMEL TOURNAMENT : Ton Has Triple Double in Griffin Victory
Ali Ton earned a triple double for the Griffins on Friday night, with 14 points, 13 assists and 11 steals, as Los Alamitos won the Mt. Carmel basketball tournament championship, 71-52, over Mt. Carmel.
Ton tied a Los Alamitos school record for steals and was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Teammates Jeremy Vandervoet and Corey Johnson were named to the all-tournament team. Vandervoet scored a game-high 22 points and Johnson had 11.
The Griffins (12-3) took a seven-point halftime lead and held Mt. Carmel (9-4) to six points in the third quarter.
